We are thrilled to announce as part of our 10-year celebration, For the Love of Jobe – Pet Services, LLC is now The Shire Concierge, LLC. To better meet the needs of our Brookline families, The Shire Concierge offers customized pet and home services, allowing our clients precious time to live their best lives.

The Shire Concierge, LLC assists busy Brookline, MA families with pet and home support to help people focus on what is important—spending time with family, friends, and furry babies. Formerly For the Love of Jobe – Pet Services, LLC, The Shire has been adapted from author J.R.R. Tolkien who describes it as a small but beautiful and fruitful land beloved by its inhabitants. We aim to make your home and hearth exactly that!
Certified Pet Care
Our core pet client is the cat. We specialize in fear-free methods, understanding the individual behavior and needs of your cat. As a Certified Professional Pet Sitter and Certified Dog Trainer, Michelle provides peace of mind to families when they are away from home that their fur members are well-loved and cared for and maintaining their current food and medication routines. (Note: We do not offer daily dog walks but can organize great care with trusted colleagues.)
Pet care visits include full wash/cleaning of all food and water bowls, litter box scooping and waste removal, administration of medicines, and interactive time for play or company (as determined by the cats—the ones really in charge!).
Compassionate Caretaking
Errands. Your time is “precious” (nod to Tolkien). Let The Shire Concierge manage your grocery shopping, dry cleaning, pharmacy runs, and rides for humans and pets for doctor and vet appointments.
Leisure Time. Let The Shire do your research for vacation trips, travel, tickets to events, event planning, and restaurant reservations.
Virtual Assistance. Let us know what you need, and let’s work together to make it happen!
Expert Assistance
Home Management. No time to shop for groceries, pick up your dry cleaning, or return your library books? Let us know!
Vendor Support. The Shire provides home management support such as hiring vendors and overseeing appointments, thus eliminating the need to wait endlessly at home for work to be completed. As a 20-year Brookline resident, Michelle has working relationships with the best local contractors for your home needs.
Home and Office Organizing. Don’t have time to tackle those home spaces such as closets, attics, basements, and garages? We can help! We will also organize the recycling and donations of your used supplies.
Paperless Office. The Shire can migrate your paper filing to e-versions, setting up systems that work for your passwords and files and eliminating your outdated paper systems. We can even shred your old paperwork when done.
