JOBE, our beloved Newfie/lab dog

For the Love of Jobe - Pet Services, LLC (JOBE) provides professional in-home cat care services. JOBE is the premier cat-focused Professional Pet Sitter living and working solely in Brookline. We provide ourselves on providing our neighbors with the care, love, attention and respect for their home and pets, as we do our own. Pet care visits include: Full wash/cleaning of all food and water; litter box scooping and waste removal; administration of medicines, and engagement time for play or company (as determined by the cats, the ones really in charge!)

At JOBE, we understand every cat is unique; some want quiet time alone and knowing they have someone to check on them; while others are very social and need more playtime and interaction. At JOBE, we get to know the individual cat and their needs. We strive to make every cat one of our furry friends and provide their pet parents peace of mind when you cannot be with them.

JOBE pet sitters are insured, bonded, and certified in pet CPR and behavior theories.

JOBE was founded in 2014, and since then, we have served more than 500 families with excellent pet care. Before her career transition, JOBE’s founder, Michelle Quinn-Davidson spent twenty years in leadership positions at nonprofits and educational institutions. She received her B.S. in speech from Emerson College and her M.P.A. in management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Michelle named her company after her beloved, rescued, blind Newfoundland Labrador dog from Tennesee names Jobe. Jobe was sweetest dog on the planet, and his presence brought family, friends, and neighbors much love and joy. As Michelle transitioned from her career in youth development, she realized her true passion has always been for animal welfare.

Crazy cat lady? Yes! Michelle has four of her own:

Cocoa the Ent, 20

Gandalf the Grey, 2

Legolas Greenleaf, 2

Samwise Gamgee, 2

(her beloved Gimli and Eowyn proceeded this tribe)

Once a JOBE family, we are always here for you, fur-life. We help our pet parents through the difficulty of behavior changes, medical issues, and end of life counseling. You are never alone.

Calendar

All pets must be visited at least once per 24 hours (some pets require multiple daily visits). Dangers such as lethal ailments like a urethral blockage, to potential home damages can have costly consequences. We try to give timeframes of our visits, but due to the unforeseen nature of pet care, exact times are not scheduled. JOBE prioritizes cats with medical needs. Our daily work hours are morning visits (9 AM – 12 PM) afternoon visits (1 PM – 4 PM) and evening visits (6 PM – 9 PM). Pet parents may request which timeframe they prefer when scheduling.

JOBE is open for business most days of the year; we will always communicate in advance closures for holiday and personal time. CLOSED 2024: January 5-15, March 2-9, April 15 (limited/Marathon) April 26, May 31-June 3, October 1-10, Thanksgiving Day/November 28, Christmas Day/December 25

Testimonials

"I would highly recommend using For the Love of Jobe pet services. They took fantastic care of my elderly cat who needed twice a day medication and attention. They sent me updates every visit with photos or videos and my cat loved them. I always had amazing peace of mind when away knowing they were taking great care of my cat. I had to leave for a trip one weekend when my cat got a little sick right before I left. They kept an extra eye out for symptoms and let me know updates the entire time (she was fine thank goodness, just had a pesky hairball). If you're in the Brookline area, I can't recommend their services enough! So sad to be moving away from their fantastic care." – Mick

“Michelle is truly as good as it gets when it comes to cat care. She cared for my girl Abigail for a number of years, giving her medication and subcutaneous fluids, and extra attention as her health began to decline. Michelle was there for me too when Abigail finally reached the end of her (nearly 20-year) life. She visited multiple times in the last days to help me decide when it was 'time' to call the in-house vet, and was in touch by text repeatedly, when she wasn't with me. I can't imagine what it would have been like without her. She does this as a living, but really does this for her love of animals, and it shows. So lucky to have her in our lives!” - Barbara

As her twin sister, I have known Michelle her entire life and can vouch with authority for her. She is the ultimate petsitter extraordinaire. She has been the "mother" to and loved a variety of animals her entire life. She gives animals lots of attention. When she watches a dog, that pet will enjoy a lot of outdoor and play time. Michelle also gives special attention to special animals -- whether it's animals who are elderly, on medication, etc. She once rescued a blind dog named Jobe, hence the name of her company, and isn't afraid of any animal challenges. – Tracy

“The ABSOLUTE BEST in terms of pet care. Michelle has been so amazing the last few years taking care of my kitties over the holidays. She goes above and beyond—even making sure the litter box is extra clean and getting the kitties new toys to occupy themselves when my fiancé and I are away. I am definitely one to stress about being away from my animals, but I have never been stressed when Michelle has been taking care of them. Definitely reach out to her if you need any animal care taking needs! – Amanda

“We were really impressed with Michelle, who cared for our two cats for 5 days when we were away. In our initial meeting, Michelle was very professional and wore a mask during this pandemic time. She took detailed notes. Michelle updated us with daily texts including pictures of the cats! She even administered their allergy medications! Michelle went above and beyond to tidy up and also entertain the cats with toys. Thanks, Michelle!! We will call you again for our next trip!!” – Vanessa

“I adore Michelle, and so does my cat! The first time Michelle came over to meet my guy, she immediately won my cat over with little toys that she brought for him. She is reliable, communicative and fair. She even suggested a timed feeder for my cat so that she would not have to charge me for a second stop during the days that she is pet sitting. When Michelle does come to visit, she feeds, scoops the litter, and plays with my guy--always sending me pictures of him--every time! She also gets my mail for me. If I had plants, she would water them, but I don't. Michelle is more than just my pet sitter, she has become a friend, and it's so nice to know that I have someone trusted there for me and my cat when I have to travel. I recommend For the Love of Jobe Pet Services wholeheartedly!” - Robin

“Michelle has gone above and beyond with taking care of my 2 cats, Ploopka and Mishka ! She has cared for them for the past 5 yrs every time I go away. One time my cat got sick right before I went on vacation . I was close to cancelling , but Michelle assured me that I was in good hands and had a full understanding of the situation. Michelle took excellent care with giving medications and even taking her to the vet ! She was so attentive and helpful that my cat was well by the time I returned. One of my cats is sickly and needs medication every day. I never have to worry and I know I am in good hands with Michelle !!! She is the best and my cats love her!” – Carol

“We've moved around a lot and have had our fair share of cat sitters. Michelle is hands down the most professional sitter we worked with. She took care of our two cats on 5 or 6 occasions over the course of one year, often for a couple of weeks at a time. The cats always looked content when we came home (not stressed out) and the house was clean. Michelle was very responsive, quick to figure out the idiosyncrasies of our cats, would occasionally even bring them toys, or add ice cubes in their water when it was really hot. I always felt at ease leaving our fur babies in Michelle's care.” – Anna

“Michelle is both professional and personal, knowledgeable and caring. She really knows animal behavior and is able to relate to and care for cats (I have two). She does far more than simply feed-and-play, and I can imagine that her care for dogs is comparable. My first meeting with her involved a thorough run-through of everything needed for the cats. Beyond that, she then (to my surprise) provided written records of what she observed and did - way more than any previous cat sitter, professional or not, had ever done. The level of attention and care, even medicine administration where indicated, was extraordinary, even better than a former vet tech who used to help me out when needed. Dealing with alarm systems, even cleaning out water and food bowls without asking, tidying up around litter boxes, making certain that a transport cage would be available and so forth, truly amazing, and very fairly priced. Constraining her client base to Brookline enables the best local attention. My two Maine coons and I are truly lucky to be within her range and quality of service.” - John
